Bistek Tagalog (Filipino Beef steak)

Bistek Tagalog or Beef steak cooked with soy sauce and lemon juice.

    1. Slice the beef into a thin slice.
    2. Pound the meat with tenderiser or with the dull edge of a clever to tenderize. [How to tenderize click here]
    3. And slice into a serving portion
    4. Combine lemon juice, soy sauce, salt, garlic, pepper and sugar
    5.  Pour mixture over beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes
    6. Sauté onions ring in hot oil until texture become soft. Transfer to platter
    7. Drain beef, fry the beef using the same pan over medium heat until brown both side.
    8. Remove excess oil. Add marinate and ½ cup water and bring to boil.
    9. Simmer for another 3-5 minutes.
    10. Transfer to flatter and add sautéed onion
    11. Serve hot with rice.
